I'm Sara, and I write Culinerapy. I live in Los Angeles with a dog, a cat, a daughter named Bailey and a husband named Paul.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Culinerapy?

I spent much of my childhood sitting on the kitchen counter while my family cooked. There were birthday dinners, funeral casseroles, busy weeknights and lazy Sunday brunches. From my quiet seat on the kitchen counter, I learned a lot about life. And I realized I could measure my life by what happened at the stove: a batch of cookies for a broken heart, a pitcher of sangria for a reunion with friends, a pot of soup for an inspired weekend in. I find that most of the events in my life make their way into kitchen. So here I am with a spoon in my hand, navigating my way through recipes and through life. These are my food stories.

Are you a trained chef?

Ha ha! That's flattering of you, but, no, I'm most definitely not a chef. I'm a writer and a home cook. Both my mom and my sister are much better cooks than I am, and I do my best to learn from them. I cook because I love to chop and stir and add things until it tastes good. I love the way cool, floury dough feels in my fingers. I love the way fresh strawberries smell, and the sound of sizzling onions in butter. I love the peace I feel when I stir a pot of something homemade, the reward of sitting down to eat something that was made with love. But training? None. That means anything I can cook, you can cook.

Who takes the pictures on your site?

I take the majority of the pictures, with my talented husband lending a hand here and there (if I'm in the picture, that means Paul took it). I am extremely impatient when it comes to things like photoshop. I rely on natural light and a macro lense on my camera to make up for my limitations.

May I link to your blog?

Aw, shucks, of course you can! I created Culinerapy as a means to share food and stories, so I am grateful you would like to pass it along!

May I use your pictures?

All my photos are protected under copyright laws, and cannot be used without my permission. But you can email me and ask!

I have some things to tell you, how may I contact you?

I'd love to hear from you! You can either leave a comment on Culinerapy, or you can email me at Culinerapy (at) gmail (dot) com.
